How to avoid those postage increases

I’ve not had much faith in the Royal Mail for some time. I think the last straw was several years ago when my original Marriage Certificate was returned from an insurance company in pieces, in a plastic bag, ‘care’ of their Registered Post service. I am sure they do need to improve and modernise, but the price increases announced last week seem a case of ‘too much, too late‘ to me.
